Birdie

One just wants to paint every one of those darling birds around here.  Such brilliant colors on such humble looking birds.  They are every where, you just have to gaze into some bushes or trees and there they are!

This one is a 20x20x1 1/2 work in oil on gallery wrapped canvas.

Yes, it's been a while!  I miss working in oils and every now and then I'm drawn to it, less than I desire but what can you do when you react to the smell of oil even though I never use toxic thinners and such.

Resiliency

The colorful clouds in the sky around San Juan Capo and San Clemente and pretty much most areas  along PCH are mind boggling these days.  A magnificent tapestry of every color in the spectrum creates scenes that are breathtaking.  Add some palms to it and.......

This one is a 30x40x1 1/2 acrylics on gallery wrapped canvas.

Matilla Poppies

14x11, acrylics on canvas, a more contemporary look of those gorgeous Matilla Poppies, also known as Matilda.

Hummingbird and Matillas

A 14x11 on watercolor paper.

These gorgeous humming birds hang out around those brilliant white flowers with a magnificent center.   They grow around the Cottage Gallery on Los Rios at spring time.  Some people know them as "Matilda".  What ever we call them,  they are surely magnificent wild flowers related to Poppy family.
