Galerie Spectra Logo

I am so proud to have designed and painted this logo for the awesome Galerie Spectra and Spectra Artists Inc.

I was giving a demo on Chinese/Japanese brush painting at the gallery while the core group were exchanging ideas about a Name and a Logo for the gallery and the group of artists affiliated to it.  So while working on the demo, I suggested this name and painted this logo.  Shared it with them and while I was happily going about my business having fun with the demo, they started sending it out to over 400 artists and before we knew it, it found its way to facebook.  Long story short, it got accepted, yay!

My thought process was to come up with something that shows the spectrum of artists and our work and the colors we use while showing that energy and talent embedded inside us and how it can sprout into a piece of art.

I for one, and I'm sure most artists feel proud to share that energy with the whole world.

And here it is, watercolor on rice paper:

Rays of Hope

Rays of Hope is done in acrylics on a  20x20x 1 1/2 canvas.  Inspired by the humming birds every
where around where I live now.

They're amazing birds, hard working and spectacular when the sun hits their little efficient bodies!

Spring Chick

People ask me how I choose my colors.  A tough one to answer, don't know how I know, I just starts working as I paint!

This one is a 24x24 in acrylics.

Piano

This 30x40 in acrylics was inspired by my old piano when I replaced it with the new one.
